Weavers Fishing Report
How’s Fishing? Despite the wind, the fishing has been pretty good with several nice trout caught. This week I would have to say the cream mop fly was the angler's choice. Like it or hate it- this fly produces fish! I would also suggest the orange mop as several anglers also reported it was working well. Anglers also report the dry fly bite was on fire with elk hair Caddis and renegades. For the spinning anglers that love the Rooster Tails- White with a silver blade or glitter black have been working great. In zone 3 rainbow glitter PowerBait and white glitter PowerBait. Also Pautzke Green Label salmon eggs were pretty hot the last couple days.

Fly Tier Spot Light
I would like to give a shout out to Shirley Hudson and her husband John. If you have ever fished a mini jig, glo ball or grub from Weaver's then it was probably tied by Shirley. Shirley has been tying for our Weavers for the past 15 years. Shirley started tying flies 50 years ago when she answered a wanted ad for fly tiers in the newspaper. Shirley was one of 16 gals who answered the ad and has been tying every since. She later branched out and started her own business. Her husband John pours and paints the jigs and she ties them. Shirley does a wonderful job and ties some of the most beautiful flies. We are very thankful to have her as a local tier. Thank you Shirley and John.

Chasing Rainbows instead of Tornados
If you didn't see my post on Facebook-we had a visit from Reed Timmer -Extreme Meteorologist and his storm chasing colleagues, Matt -Localman Weather and Edgar O’Neal. They were taking a break from chasing last weeks storms and decided to hit the stream. They did very well drifting the cream mop fly. It was pretty neat hearing some of their storm chasing stories.
