Fishing Report Update 4/27/2020

How's Fishing?

Fishing is a little tough right now, but not impossible.  The water is high, moving fast, and murky.  Fishing deep or off the sides works well.  I like to use 1/8 ounce marabou in dark colors (black and yellow) on my spinning rod.  When I use my flyrod in these conditions I fish with sinking line.  If you do not have sinking line, leader, or sink tip line a mini jig, midge, or whatever you like to use under an indicator about a foot deeper than you normally fish works well.  See you on the stream soon!

Update Quote

The woods and waters of the outdoors became my church, a place where I could examine my thoughts and feel I was connected to all living things. This feeling is especially strong when, with rod in hand, I am wading a river for trout or salmon...where everything makes sense, where there is nothing but truth. There will be no disenchantment with this church.

  • Is there any word on whether or not the parks will be releasing trout back into the streams on Monday when the state reopens?
