Fishing Report June 16, 2021

How's Fishing?

There have been two comments made consistently this week. One is that, happily, nice sized fish are being caught, The second comment is that nothing that usually works is working. Black and gold marabou? The fish are turning their noses up at it. John Deere mini jig? Big yawn from the fish.

So what is working? Black or gingersnap marabou have been good. A peach mini jig with a tail is also a good choice. The cracklebacks are solid, especially the Bennett Blue. These are being stripped under an indicator.

The stream continues to be clearer every day. Lots of warm and dry weather this weekend and much lower humidity.

Happy Father's Day to all you Papas out there. I remember fly fishing with my Daddy in Colorado and those times are some of my fondest memories. It pleases me that my son is carrying on this tradition with his son. Here's hoping that you all appreciate that person in your family that wakes up every morning asking "can we go fishing today?"
