Fishing Report

How's Fishing Fishing this week at Bennett Spring should be really good heading into the weekend. We had some rain recently, but nothing too heavy, and now the weather is shaping up to be nice. The stream is slightly stained right now but clearing up well each day and remains very fishable.

Tomorrow is Kids Free Fishing Day. They will have a section roped off above the whistle bridge just for the kids, so expect a little extra activity in that area. The Bennett Spring Fly group will be handing out flies to kids and Ozark Fly Fisherman will be handing out  prizes so make sure to stop by and check it out.

Fishing has been best deeper and out of the main current. Slowing things down and getting your bait in front of fish has been key.

In Zones 1 and 2, anglers are doing well drifting mops and fishing deeper presentations. Cream and orange mop flies have both been producing good numbers of fish.

Marabou jigs in black and yellow, orange, and ginger snap colors are also producing steady action, especially early in the morning.    Rooster Tails in orange, pink, and glitter black have been effective as well.

Fly anglers are still picking up fish on cracklebacks and black zebra midges, but again, the key has been fishing deeper and staying out of the heavy current.

Down in Zone 3, Gulp Alive worms, mouse tails (orange/white and orange/pink), and PowerBait (salmon peach and orange glitter) have been working well.
