Fishing Report

Brayden, Brad and  Todd from St. Louis

Hows fishing?  Fishing has been awesome this week. Yes, I said awesome even with the higher and murky water. We have had so many people come up this week and say this has been some of the best fishing they have ever had. Now a few people on the stream might have different opinions but for the most part, I would say its been a good week. I was able to get down to the stream with my buddy “poor ol Jeff Arn’s” and we had a great morning. We fished up in zone 1 and caught several fish. Any guesses on what we caught them on, If you guessed the “cream mop fly,” you were correct. I was running it deep and nowhere near the middle. Running it closer to the bank was pretty effective and not in the fast water. The key was definitely getting it down deep.

Last week was a good week for pink and so has this week. Pink mops and mini jigs did pretty well. Glo balls in shrimp pink, Tri Color Original and Jimi Hendricks. In the Rooster Tail selection, the pink, white or orange were working well for several anglers. Just regular night crawlers were also very effective this week as we had several customers come up and get them for zone three.

We’ve has several calls asking about stream condition. The water is flowing pretty good in the middle but is getting clear every day. It is very fishable even when it gets out the banks a bit. We do have some rain in the forecast this weekend but it shouldn’t be enough to change the levels much. I hope everyone has an awesome week. Good luck, be safe and as always, we’ll see you on the stream.
