Fishing Report

How's Fishing? I know! I know!, I haven't done the fishing report in a second but it's back again this week. It's probably not a good excuse but when I was supposed to be writing the report, I may or may not have been fishing.:-)  We have had some great weather the past couple weeks and the fishing has been good too.  We haven't seen rain in a while so the water is pretty low  and running very slow. With that being said, I would stick with a smaller line. I normally use 4 pound Vanish 100% fluorocarbon and it has worked but I've noted the bite has been a little slower so I've switched to 6x fluorocarbon tippet. On the drift, anglers have done well with RGN's and also the small white thread jigs. Orange mop fly has been a good drifter this week for some anglers. Brown and Olive roaches were also popular this week and worked well. Dry flies have been fun. Elk Hair Caddis, Renegades and Cahill have been working the best for me. I also have been throwing a simulator which is very similar to a caddis. If you like stripping cracklebacks or woolys, The Bennett blue has been solid along with the pumpkin or red in the crackleback category.

Pink Rooster Tails and White Rooster Tails have worked well for anglers. I watched a family limit out in about 10 minutes with a sparkle pink Rooster Tail near the whistle bridge

In zone 3 Power Worms in orange and white were working great for a couple of angers I spoke with. Salmon Peach and the Rainbow are 2 PowerBaits that are working well. These two are usually a go for several anglers.

I hope everyone gets a chance to make it down one last time before the catch and release season ends. Have a great weekend everyone, Good luck, be safe and I'll most likely see you on the stream.
