Fishing Report

How’s Fishing? It is sizzling out there but we’ve had a decent week of fishing.  Lots of people are removing the waders and doing some wet wading with this heat. I have spoke with many anglers that are having some great success with stripping wooly, crackleback, streamers and other wet flies. I have also heard several anglers throwing dry flies and doing well. On Sunday I fished the dam with a buddy and had some action with an olive crackleback and also the Bennett Blue crackleback. When it comes to drifting, I have spoken with several anglers that are using Nymphs and having pretty good luck. I drifted the RGN “Ross Glitter Nymph” on Monday and it worked pretty good for me. Another good drifter was the orange mop fly. I have noticed the deeper the better when it came to either stripping or drifting flies.

Several anglers said orange marabou and also red and white marabou worked great for them this week. Of course the black and yellow is a must first thing in the morning.

The water right now is clear, flowing slow and at a gauge height of 1.80.  I am hoping to get down and do some fishing in the morning. I hope everyone has a wonderful rest of their weekend. Good luck, be safe and I’ll see you on the stream.
