Fishing Report
How’s Fishing? Fishing has been really good this week. We have had several really nice fish brought up and weighed. The summer is definitely among us as the heat is moving in! We are starting to see several families show up for their vacation. We hope to have a great turn out this weekend.
So, what’s working? Well, we opened up a belly of a trout and it was full of cicadas. So, I would most definitely try using a real one in zone 3 or a cicada fly in zone 1 or 2. I made a trip down to zone 3 this afternoon and watched several anglers put on a show with PowerBait. Now a majority of the anglers were using orange or salmon peach but my goodness the trout must have been hungry because they were catching rainbows left and right. In zone 1 and 2, Pink Mega worms were working well. I also watched a father and son duo catch a limit in about 5 minutes with that darned old John Deere mini jig in zone 2 near the whistle bridge. Marabou jigs were also working well in ginger for a couple angler I spoke with.
It's Memorial Day Weekend! Memorial Day is a day when we honor our servicemen and women who have died serving in the armed forces. I would like to recognize a family friend who died in action on August 23, 2013 during Operation Enduring Freedom. His name is Private First Class, Jonathon Michael Dean Hostetter. Jonathon was an avid outdoorsman, fisherman and a wonderful person with the kindest heart. Jonathon thank you for your service and your ultimate sacrifice, you will never be forgotten my friend. Everyone at Weaver's would like to thank our retired and active members who have and are currently serving in our armed forces.
I hope everyone has a wonderful Memorial Day weekend. Good luck, be safe and as always, we’ll see you on the stream.
