Fishing Report

How’s Fishing? Fishing has been normal this week. It has been very hot for the past couple of days. The anglers who are fishing in the heat have said they are doing ok but are having to fish deeper. We have had very little rain and the water is moving slow and crystal clear. Zone three had a lot of action this past week with several lunkers brought up. Salmon peach PowerBait, worms and salmon eggs did very well in zone 3. The Niangua river also had several lunkers caught in it. We Had several anglers who caught fish on the RGN which stands for Ross glitter nymph. This fly was created by the late Mike Ross and has made its place in many anglers fly boxes. It’s a small nymph that is tied on a size 16 and a 14 hook and has glitter thread near the curve of the hook. Many angler who fish the RGN drift it with a indicator. Adding a little twitch to your rod gives the RGN a little actions and makes the glitter thread irresistible to the trout.
I hope everyone has a safe Fourth of July weekend. Good luck, be safe and will see you on the stream.
