Fishing Report 10/9/2019

How's Fishing?

Fishing has been good.  The stream is low and clear with a bounty of beautiful trout in its flow.  The cooler weather makes for excellent fishing all day.  Those of you fishing with marabou are having good luck on a variety of colors especially black and yellow or straight black.  This applies whether fishing a spinning rod or fly rod.  Cracklebacks, Renegades, or Griffiths Gnats are a great choice for dry fly action right now.  If you would rather fish under an indicator Hopper Dropper set-ups, Mopflies/Megaworms, or the mini jig (John Deere) of your choice is always good!  See you on the stream!

Anglers also have the opportunity to catch and release trout during the winter fishing season. Bennett Spring Trout Park is open for catch-and-release fishing only from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday from the second Friday in November thru the second Monday in February. For 2019, fishing will start on November 8 and end on February 10, 2020. During catch-and-release season, only flies may be used and all fish must be released unharmed immediately.

There is a list at https://mostateparks.com/events/park/bennett-spring-state-park that gives all the details of other activities, such as hikes that are going on at Bennett Spring State Park through out the year.

Quote of the Week

If, as I suspect, trout fishing is something of a disease, then it is also something of a therapy in itself.
